About Us

I have always been interested in cooking, but never been that good at it.
My parents could tell you horror stories about creations they had to suffer when I was a child including my own recipe bannoffee pie and a Japanese style banquet, both totally inedible.
My skills did not improve much at university and beyond, my house mates and I would make feasts using tinned hotdogs, eggs and radishes! Another friend would laugh at the "beige" dinners I would make for her using boil in the bag rice and sweetcorn.

What I am trying to tell you is, there IS hope.

My break through did not come until about 2 years ago after getting married and having my little boy. Maybe it was cooking for someone else every day, or having the time to think about food as a full time mum. I now read cookbooks to relax, and cooking programmes are now my idea of a good night in. I love reading about and experimenting with foods and flavours from around the world, and creating family friendly meals.

I use this blog as a diary of my own and my family's efforts and a record of what we consider our successes.
